I couldn’t be more excited to share these images from Danielle and Kevin’s intimate destination wedding in Venice, Italy! Danielle and Kevin met in Venice while traveling abroad on a school trip for an art history course, and when they began planning their wedding (after getting engaged in Iceland, one of my favorite other countries!) they realized none of their initial plans were really feeling right. So, they decided to gather their families and bring them back to where it all started for an amazing week long trip of a lifetime.
With the help of an extremely talented wedding planner, Danielle and Kevin crafted the most beautiful day for their friends and family. The two began by getting ready at the Ca’ Sagredo hotel which has no shortage of historic details inside. We all water taxied to Palazzo Cavalli for the most adorable little city hall wedding, then proceeded to Piazza San Marco for drinks with live music. Watching Danielle and Kevin dance with their grandmothers in the square brought me back to this time last year when I was doing the same thing with mine! Sidenote: Italy has a piece of my heart. We wandered around for an hour or two to take portraits while their guests freshened up, then made our way to a little restaurant for their reception where we were fed something like five or six courses. I truly thought I was going to explode. People always think European countries eat healthier than us, which I definitely believe to be true! Until you make it to said countries and realize you need three different appetizers, bread, a salad, a main course, and two desserts. What an experience I will never forget.
